Doctor Who Convention Line-Up Extended: Mark Sheppard, Ian McNeice, Raquel Cassidy
Mark Sheppard and five others have been added to the line-up of Doctor Who Convention, BBC Worldwide announced today. The actor, who played the role of Agent Canton Delaware III in the opening episodes of Doctor Who’s sixth series, has appeared in a number of perennial science fiction shows, including “Firefly” and “Supernatural”.
The other additions are as follows: Nick Briggs, voice of the Daleks; Neil Gorton, a visual effects specialist from MillenniumFX; Ian McNeice, who portrayed Winston Churchill; and Raquel Cassidy, who played Cleaves in The Almost People and The Rebel Flesh. They join a list of appearances already including Matt Smith, Steven Moffat, and Arthur Darvill.
“I grew up watching Doctor Who, and the fans are a huge part of what really makes the show so very special,” Sheppard is quoted as saying. “I can’t wait to come back to Cardiff for this unprecedented behind-the-scenes event - a unique chance for fans to meet the amazing people responsible for so much of the show we all love and get to experience their talent and creativity in a totally new way.”via zcint

“The man is a national treasure. He’s a national treasure and he’s a personal treasure too. I share him with the nation.” -Hugh Laurie [on Stephen Fry]

John Doran, an ex-sergeant in the marines who was discharged for being gay before DADT was repealed. Shortly after, he was scooped up by the Family, who keep an eye on these matters, and became one of its most valuable and devoted recruits as an expert in explosives, hand-to-hand combat and sniping. He usually works as muscle and cover for the Family’s more violent operations (liberation of “gay cure” camps, raids on businesses that back conservative politicians, and extremist religious missionary groups), as well as solo hits. He is currently partnered with Daniel Gotarde, one of the highest ranking professional hackers in the Family’s fold.
L. and I have a dream project - a Coen brothers/Quentin Tarantinoesque cathartic and inexcusably violent blockbuster about the gay mafia called Bash Back! It would star people like Stephen Fry, Rupert Everett and Alan Cumming as mafia dons, Stephen Colbert and David Hyde Pierce as the conservative villains, and Buck Angel, Queen Latifa and Bailey Jay as mafia hit men and women. John Doran would be played by Michael Fassbender. Obviously.

Alex Kingston Hints River Song May Return On ‘Doctor Who’
During the filming of this upcoming weekend’s ‘The Graham Norton Show,’ Alex Kingston was asked if she would be reprising her role as the sassy time travelling semi –companion of the good Doctor. “You may see her again,” she insinuates, “Who knows? Let’s just say, ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ and ‘Doctor Who’ don’t film at the same time,” referring to her stint as Dr Blanche Mottershead on the British show ‘Upstairs Downstairs.’
Kingston does know more than what she reveals as, in true River Song style, showrunner Steven Moffat had told her before filming started last season who her parents were and she kept it to herself during filming with the other cast members. “I knew… for the whole of the last series. (The other actors) didn’t know and they were constantly trying to get it out of me. They discovered it in that episode (‘A Good Man Goes to War’) when they read the scripts.”
Guys, let me just.
I have something to say about this, on behalf of many, many people I know.
I need to tell you why this is not okay.
I’m going to start with the primer course, just as a refresher. You should all know this already: Sexual orientation is not a choice. You…

Amazing how fire exposes our priorities.
